Rhode Island Walks to End Alzheimer’s
Next month, Rhode Islanders will Walk to End Alzheimer’s disease as part of the world’s largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s care, support and research.
The walk began in 1989 as the “Memory Walk”, with nine Alzheimer’s Association chapters raising $149,000. Last year, more than 42,000 teams participated in nearly 650 Walks across the country, raising more than $55 million!
This year, Rhode Island walks take place on September 21 in Newport at Salve Regina University and on September 28 in Pawtucket at Slater Memorial Park.
