Everyone wants to make sure that what they have worked for all of their lives ends up with the people they want. They also want this to happen as quickly and as inexpensively as possible.

This is where tools such as Trusts and Wills come in. We say “tools” because Trusts and Wills are simply legal devices — utilized differently depending on a client’s unique needs — for accomplishing his or her goals.

We also encourage our clients to plan for while they are living, not just after they are gone. We suggest that our clients think about questions such as, “Who would I want to make decisions regarding my assets and my health care if I am no longer able?” By considering tools such as Durable Powers of Attorney for both financial and health care decision making, and by determining who they would wish to make such decisions for them, our clients are empowered to take control over this process.
